According to Next Generation Consulting, “three out of four Americans under 28 say that where they live is as important or more important than where they work.” In effect, communities not focused on the social and professional growth of their younger residents are losing young, educated talent.

High Country Young Professionals (HCYP) was founded in 2009 by a few area young professionals, with the support of the Chamber of Commerce, in efforts to increase the involvement of local, young professionals in economic development. In 2013, we updated our name to the Young Professionals of Boone, yet our focus remains the same.

Our membership represents the High Country’s advertisers, artists, architects, graphic designers, marketers, financiers, lawyers, salespeople and more. Our mission is to cultivate the next generation leadership in the High Country by retaining and recruiting young professionals through business and social networking.
